Hi, I’m Kristyn, your baker! I’m so grateful for the opportunity to bake for you and your family. Each week, I offer a rotating menu featuring different loaves, giving you the chance to experience a variety of flavors and styles.
At Old Oak Sourdough, I’m passionate about honoring the traditional art of breadmaking—using organic grains, wholesome organic ingredients, natural wild yeast, and long fermentation. What sets my sourdough apart is my focus on quality, organic grains that are freshly house-milled the day I prepare the dough, along with a 24+ hour fermentation process. This approach enhances the nutritional value of the bread while making it easier to digest.
As a gluten-free family due to sensitivities, I discovered that the proper sourdough process—pairing whole grains with long fermentation—reduces the overall gluten content. This was a game changer for us, reintroducing wheat in a way we could enjoy. (Please note: If you have been diagnosed with Celiac disease, sourdough is not a safe alternative.)
